A About Horseland



Horseland opened in 1982, selling a unique collection of exclusively designed tack. Horseland has grown into a popular boutique tack shop that now stocks world leading brands such as CWD, LAS and Tucci .

As a South African-based boutique equestrian store Horseland is very proud to present indivisualised and hand made tack, designed by Andy Taylor. Over the past decade our range has grown from strength to strength to include not ony bridles, but items such as specialised nosebands, girths and boots as well.

OUR history

O Our history at Horseland

  • Where it started.

    ... - 1977

    As a child, Andy's parents
    owned Bryanston Equitation
    Centre which was situated opposite
    the Clay Oven, on Witkoppen
    Road. Mr Albert Taylor owned this
    successful yard which was run
    then by Mr Dick Grayston.
    Andy competed sucessfully in
    child & junior rankings.

  • SANDF

    1978-1979

    Andy rode for the SANDF at
    the Equitation Center. in
    Potchefstroom alongside
    fellow South African equestrians,
    Barry Taylor and Adriaan van Wyk.

  • Cordwainers Technical College

    1980-1981

    Andy attended the Cordwainers
    Technical College completing
    the two year saddlery
    manufacturing course, obtaining
    his certificate from the City and
    Guilds of London Institute under
    the skilled hand of one of the
    Queen of England's master
    saddlers.

  • Andy returns to
    South Africa

    1982

    Andy Taylor returned to South
    Africa and after some work
    experience started Horseland
    in their first premises in the
    Riverside Shopping Centre,
    Bryanston Drive.

  • The start of Horseland,
    as we know it today.

    1992

    Andy Taylor moved to his new
    premises in Kyalami where they
    are still very happily located.
